No visit to Lewis and Harris would be complete without visiting their many fascinating historic sites.

The West Side of Lewis has the world famous Callanish Stones (Calanais in Gaelic); the Dun Carloway Broch; Garenin, the black house village; as well as the Black House in Arnol.

Lews Castle in Stornoway houses a number of exhibits including the Lewis Chessmen.

St. Clement’s Church at Rodel at the very southern tip of Harris is also well worth a visit.

The cottage is ideally situated, giving easy access to all these sites within a short drive.
