Walking & Cycling

Lewis is a fantastic destination for walkers and cyclists!

South Lochs offers a wide range of walks, such as a coastal walk along either side of Loch Odhairn; seeing stunning views across the Minch around Cromore; or the fascinating walk to the abandoned village of Steimreway.

If you’ve not brought your own, cycles can be hired from AD Cycle Centre or Bike Hebrides.  The Hebridean Way Cycling Route goes all the way from Vatersay, south of Barra, up to the Butt of Lewis.  Many beaches, lochs and historic sites can be reached as day trips from the cottage.  And the Cromore & Calbost Cycling Route even goes right past the front door!

There’s more details about cycling in Lewis and Harris on the VisitOuterHebrides page here.
